Airline Transport Pilot License

(ATPL(H)) - Frozen - Theoretical Portion

Course Objectives:

To provide candidates with the necessary theoretical knowledge to pass the theoretical exams for obtaining the Airline Transport Pilot License, or ATPL(H).

The Airline Transport Pilot License enables the holder to operate as a pilot or co-pilot on helicopters used in commercial air transport in both single-pilot and multi-pilot operations.


Admission Requirements:

Minimum Age to Attend the Course:

A candidate for the ATPL(H) license must be at least 21 years old before taking the practical exam.

Education and Knowledge:

High school diploma.

Assessment through tests to determine the student's entry level, aimed at verifying:

  • Necessary knowledge of physics and mathematics.
  • Proficiency in the English language.

Prerequisites

A candidate for the ATPL(H) license must have the following requirements:

  • Hold a valid Private Pilot License (PPL(H)) or Commercial Pilot License (CPL(H)).

Course Structure and Exams:

The course consists of a theoretical part in distance learning and another conducted at the Caiolo headquarters or secondary school bases.

  • Flight Planning and Monitoring

  • Operational Procedures
  • Principles of Flight
  • VFR Communications
  • IFR Communications

The following theoretical credits are planned for total hours and subjects listed:

  • A student with a CPL(H) license will have a credit of 200 hours on the total course and will not have to take the VFR Communications exam.
  • A student with an Instrument Rating IR(H) will have a credit of 200 hours on the total course and will not have to take the IFR Communications exam.
  • A student with an Instrument Rating IR(H) and CPL(H) license will have a credit of 350 hours on the total course and will not have to take the IFR Communications and VFR
